I'll start out by saying that I attempted to buy the shoes from my last post last week, but I ran into the problem I frequently do when ordering on anthropologie.com. They said the shoes would be available last week, but when I went on, all of the sizes except 8 won't be for sale until June. This wouldn't be so annoying except for the fact that this is at least the 5th time this has happened, and it usually seems to be with things that are in their catalogs. Why advertise for an item that you don't even have in stock? So, I decided that part of my graduation money would be better served buying paint for the upstairs bedroom, a new light fixture for the library, and more yard stuff. My daffodils in the front yard have bloomed, they look so pretty! I was in Texas last week, so I wasn't sure what the yard would look like when I got back. I had a good time while I was there, but it was very busy. I spent time in Austin, Corpus Christi/Mustang Island, and San Antonio. Going to the beach was really fun, and it was pretty, but the whole visible oil rig thing was just weird haha. All in all, I'm glad to be back in Binghamton. But I'm so behind on everything, the house is a mess, and I have a lot of errands to take care of. There isn't much going on around here that's very interesting. I finished painting the walls, ceiling and window trim in the mud room. But, when I painted the door, it absorbed a lot of the paint, and the wood is still showing. So, I bought some Kilz today, hopefully that will make it nice and white so I can hang it and we can put the room back together. I love the color of the room, it's like being enveloped in a pink hug haha. Jason is just happy that it looks cleaner haha. I'll post pictures when it's finished. Then it's off to the upstairs bedroom, where I'm painting two small walls Martha Stewart's Sewing Basket color, which is a faded looking orange with a little yellow in it. The rest of the walls will be South Sea Pearl, which is one shade darker than the color in the library, sort of a taupe. I'm pretty excited, but there's a lot of work to do in there. I have so much I want to do around the house in the next few months, it's overwhelming at times, but I'm looking forward to it.
